The Hearth Project
A full-building conversion from hotel to 67 independent housing units, with structural, mechanical, electrical, and envelope systems replaced in their entirety.

The Hearth Project
The Hearth Project is a major renovation of the former High Country Inn Hotel in Whitehorse, converting the four-storey structure into 67 independent long-term housing units for the unhoused. The project involved significant abatement, structural upgrades to current seismic code, full replacement of all mechanical and electrical systems, a complete envelope replacement, and a full reconfiguration of interior finishes and layouts. All existing block walls were sawcut to introduce vertical and horizontal reinforcement throughout the structure. Wildstone supported the project from preconstruction through construction, managing design coordination, budget development, and funding alignment with the ownership team. Structural upgrades and all mechanical work were self-performed.
