Summerland Research and Development Centre Chiller Replacement

Wildstone self-performed the complete mechanical retrofit of the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Summerland Research and Development Centre, including demolition and legal disposal of existing chillers, piping, insulation, and associated HVAC equipment, and full installation of a new chiller system with pumps, piping, insulation, and DDC control upgrades. Scope also included system commissioning, seasonal recommissioning, and hands-on operator training for AAFC maintenance personnel.

The work required critical sequencing, specialized crane and rigging operations, and heavy-duty skates to safely remove and replace large mechanical equipment within an occupied, high-security government campus. Detailed phasing and shutdown plans were developed in coordination with facility stakeholders at every stage, ensuring the research facility remained fully operational throughout construction.
