Red Chris Mine Greenfield 287kV Substation
5,000 feet of elevation. Remote northern BC. Two 100,000 lb transformers hauled in on specialized 16-axle trucks from Stewart. Wildstone was awarded the EPC contract to design, procure, and construct a new 287kV greenfield substation for Imperial Metals' Red Chris Mine near Tatogga Lake, and built camp on site to support the crew for the full duration. All structural fabrication and installation was self-performed by Wildstone in-house crews. Despite the cold climate, difficult access, and complex environmental and logistical constraints, the project was delivered on time and within budget. The substation was commissioned in spring 2014 and remains a core component of the mine's power infrastructure.
