Faro Diesel Plant Replacement

Part of YEC's territory-wide effort to modernize emergency power infrastructure across the Yukon, the Faro Diesel Replacement Project will deliver a new 5 MW backup generation facility to the community of Faro. Two 2.5 MW CAT generators will be housed in engineered enclosures, assembled and tested offsite, then transported and installed on site using a jack-and-slide method designed around Faro's spatial constraints. The scope also includes removal and containment retrofit of an aging substation transformer, relocation of a high-voltage transmission line, and full mechanical, electrical, and SCADA integration.
