Dawson Sawmill Renovation

The Yukon Sawmill Company dates back to March 1898, when it was the largest sawmill operation in the Klondike and the biggest machine shop north of Vancouver. In 2022, Wildstone was awarded a unique Design-Build contract to install a fully functional temporary government office inside this National Historic Site, built in a way that could be entirely removed to allow future restoration of the building to its original state. Working closely with the Yukon Government and leading the design team, we found creative construction solutions that preserved the building's integrity while meeting modern building codes. The office is now fully operational while the Government of Yukon pursues permanent accommodations in Dawson City.
