Burwash Landing Water Treatment Plant

Wildstone delivered a new water treatment plant for Burwash Landing, a remote community on the southern shore of Kluane Lake along the Alaska Highway. The project began with drilling new sub-permafrost groundwater wells in 2015, followed by construction of a wood-frame treatment facility completed by Wildstone in spring 2017.

The plant treats raw water drawn from two groundwater wells, removing excess iron and manganese through greensand filtration and sodium hypochlorite disinfection to meet Canadian drinking water quality standards. An in-building truck fill station was incorporated to serve the community's water distribution needs. Delivered for Kluane First Nation and the Government of Yukon.
