Boralex Moose Lake Wind Farm Substation
Fifty kilometres south of Tumbler Ridge, in a remote stretch of northeastern BC, Wildstone delivered the complete electrical substation for the 15 MW Moose Lake Wind Farm. Working under an EPC model with a tight five-month construction window, we designed a compact substation footprint, self-performed all civil and concrete works, and managed the procurement of long-lead electrical equipment to keep the schedule intact. The substation was energized on time, enabling the wind farm to come online and now generates 58,000 MWh of renewable energy annually, enough to power more than 5,400 households and offset approximately 750 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. Developed in partnership with West Moberly First Nations, Saulteau First Nations, and the McLeod Lake Indian Band.
